Hello
and welcome to LANTA DIVING SAFARIS!
We
are on Ko Lanta, a cosy island in the southern Andaman
Sea.
From here, you start your diving safari on our live aboard
- the M/V Flying Seahorse, the one and only live
aboard on Ko Lanta.
Our Office is located in Saladan village, Ko Lanta. The
gorgeous underwater world in no distance from the island
provides a very broad variety of special, colourful as
well as very rare species, fish and corals. No matter
if you are a noob, dive pro or professional UW-photographer:
We can show you where to find the mantas, the turtles,
ghostpipefish od whalesharks. All our instructors and
guides have years of experience in this area around Lanta
and know everything by heart. A special thanks to the
team.
 |
Learning
is fun - with us.
We offer the whole range of PADI program. Most
of the education will take place during the safaris.
Ko Ha islands, Hin Daeng, Hin Muang and Ko Bida
provide perfect conditions to attend e.g. your AOWD
or Rescue.
Or you start your OWD course in the swimming pool
an do your open water dives while staying on our
live aboard - no problem. We tell you how to do
it. And if you never dabbled in diving: Take part
in our PADI Discover Scuba Diving program. Give
it a try!
|
"You come as a guest and leave as a friend."
True
to this motto, our object in view will be, to respond
to your requirements.
Just tell us what you want. Our team is professional,
friendly and helpful - and has
the only desire to make your well- deserved holiday as
comfortable as possible.
Together we want to go in or a discovery, have lots of
fun together, take fantastic underwater pictures - but
there is one thing we thing is the MOST IMPORTANT:
your health!! That is why we ask you in advance to
observe the rules of diving security.
So that your diving adventure at Lanta Diving Safaris
will turn out as a great and unforgettable holiday trip.
Referring to us, we will do everything to fulfil that
- we promise in advance.
The
M/V Flying Seahorse is a live aboard boat, which
already made some Similan safaris and now cruises the
sea around Ko Lanta since October. In summer , the boat
has been completely renovated and modified. On the main
deck you find 8 cabins with air condition. Two
cabins have double beds; six are two bunk bed cabins.
Fully
booked, the M/V Flying Seahorse accommodates a maximum
of 16 divers. All cabins are equipped with 220V power
sockets for you to reload recharchable batteries of your
cameras or torches. Electricity on board is available
24 h.
On the upper deck, there is a wide, open area where we
will have meals and where you always find coffee, tea,
coll drinking water, electrolyte drinks. You might as
well want to have a look at your underwater pictures,
videos or see a DVD-movie on our TV set. In the bow you
find the helm stand. This is the private area and cabin
of our captain.
|
|
|
|
|
For breakfast, we serve alternating: toast, dark bread,
eggs any style, sausages, ham, cornflakes, muesli, coffee,
tea. For lunch and dinner we have traditional Thai style
food as well as European food. If you have any suggestions,
let us know. We also make arrangements for vegetarians
and can provide less spicy dishes.
In the back of the main deck, you find the kitchen, the
wet area and the diving platform where there are lots
of spaces for you to keep all your equipment. Two air
cooled compressors provide fresh and clean air for the
20 tanks (12 l aluminium tanks, INT/DIN-valves).
That makes diving more fun than on daytrip boats. And
much more relaxing. Two Thai boat boys are looking forward
to helping you on and off the boat as well as with your
equipment. Two WC/shower-cabins (hot water) and two more
Sweetwater showers on the diving platform improve your
comfort.

PADI
Courses
The PADI-program with Lanta Diving Safaris, you can
discover the beauty and fascination of the underwater
world. After your education, you get the international
PADI- certificate. Our experienced PADI-instructors
offer the complete PADI-program in many different languages.
Your safety and a safe and solid education are our concern.
Discover the Reef
You
want to give diving a try? Discover The Reef is your program!
We give you some basics in theory and in the handling
of the diving equipment. Now you are ready for the adventure.
2 dives accompanied by your personal PADI- instructor
at one of Thailand's most beautiful reefs. After this,
you don't want to stop?
Here is what you need:
Open Water Diver course
The course normally takes 4 days. To start with 2 days
theory (completed by PADI-book & video) and instructions
in the pool. Here you learn the basic rules and principles
of diving. In the pool, you will be taught most of the
practical skills you need for diving in the sea. After
2 days, 4 dives in the sea you are a PADI open water diver.
It is possible to do the 4 open water dives during a
safari on the M/V Flying Seahorse. Your personal instructor
will take care for you and dive with you. So this is the
deal: 2 days theory and pool in Ko Lanta, 4 days, 3 nights
on the safari boat - and maybe start the advanced open
water course? Don't hesitate to ask for a special package
price.
Advanced Open Water course
The AOWD is meant to improve your knowledge and skills
as a PADI open water diver by practical experience in
the open water. We offer the course as a part of our safari
on the M/V Flying Seahorse. The education for PADI
Advanced open Water Diver includes 5 different special
subjects.
Deep diving and navigation underwater are obligatory.
In addition, you choss three out of the following subjects:
Free Choice: Multilevel & computer diving,
underwater videography, underwater naturalist, wreck diving,
drift diving, search & recovery, underwater photography.
The AOWD course improves your self assurance, competence
and safety.
Emergency First Response Course (EFR) & Rescue
Diver Course
With EFR you get to know cardiopulmonary resuscitation
(CPR) and basic knowledge of first aid methods. The course
takes 1 day. PADI Rescue Diver takes 3 days. You practice
a variety of emergency situations and rescue techniques,
under water as well as on the surface. The dive spots
around Ko Lanta provide a prefect surrounding for this
course.
Dive master course
This is your first Step to professional PADI diving.
We recommend to prearrange 2 to 3 weeks time. The course
includes one safari on our live aboard M/V Flying Seahorse
(14 dives).
