Frequently ask questions - The Flying Seahorse is one of the most professional Scuba Diving Liveabaords in Thailand and Burma

Q Where i can find Manta Divers - Dive Center or Office?
A Our dive shop is located in Saladan Village on Ko Lanta.
The Office is together with Lanta Diving Safaris.
Use the button in the header
"Contact " to find maps showing our location.
Our high season opening hours are from 09 am to 09 pm (almost) every day.

Q How can I contact Manta Divers Ko Lanta?
A The best way to contact us is by email at office (@) pegamedia.com - we check incoming mail regulary and promise to respond as quickly as possible. You can also telephone to Peters mobile +66 (0) 878896802
or our office +66 (0)75- 668404 during normal working hours, just remember that Thailand time is GMT + 7 hours. If you must send us anything by post, please use the address at the bottom of the page.

Q Whats about the weather?
A

From November to May is Ko Lanta 's dry season and Manta Divers Ko Lanta runs a full program of day trips, liveaboards and the full PADI courses. Sunny weather and calm seas during most of this time. In the "low" season, June - October, we run a reduced program of PADI Courses and Daytrips, and there are occasional liveaboards in the South Andaman Sea.
There are many sunny days in the "low" season and showers can last a day or two, but normally little more than 2-3 hours. Expect temperatures like in the dry season, but occasional rough seas during this time.

Q What kind of temperatures can I expect?
A Water is typically around 84F (29C) and the air, well, hot is the best word to describe it, around 86F to
104F or 30C to 40C. Wear light clothing but bring a light sweater or jacket in case you get cool in the evenings.

Q What kind of equipment should I bring?
A We provide weights, weight belts and 12 liter aluminum tanks with INT/DIN valves. If you bring you own
diving equipment, you will need to bring the basics, i.e. a regulator with depth and air gauges, BCD, dive computer which tells you your bottom time, a wet suit, fins, mask and snorkel. A surface safety marker
that can be inflated 5m or 15ft below the surface at the beginning of your safety stop is required for each diver. We have lights for rent for night dives if needed.

Q Can I rent diving equipment?
A

All our prices for day trips are quoted not including rental equipment, since many divers have their own dive gear. A full set of well maintained diving equipment ( including BCD, regulator, shorty wet suit, mask, snorkel and fins) can be rented from our office in Saldan Village at 600 Baht per day. Please let us know your sizes,
or preferably, come to try the equipment before your cruise.
Dive computers SUUNTO can also be rented at 250 Baht/day.

Q How long do I need to wait before flying after diving?
A Latest recommendation is that you wait at least 18 - 24 hours before boarding a commercial flight if you have been making multiple dives or multiple days of diving.

Q How many Divemasters are there?
A Generally in small groups of no more than 4 or 5 with each Divemaster. You don't have to dive with them
but remember, they know the area and where special creatures were last spotted. If you would like to dive alone with your dive buddy it is OK. You need a knife, your own safety balloon and dive computer.
Remember insurance policies don't cover solo diving, deco diving or dives deeper than 30 meters.

Q Can I take a PADI course on my fun dive holidays?
A Yes, we offer you the full Programm of PADI-certified courses

Q What if I need a hotel before or after the cruise?
A We generally recommend some Hotels in Ko Lanta, Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak or Ranong. Please check on our website for some option. We are happy to organice a airport transfer or do arrange a reservation for you, or
at any other local hotel of your choice.

Q What about my non-diving companion?
A Non divers are given a 25% discount when booking on an individual basis.

Q Should I take out insurance?
A Trip insurance is recommended and Medical Dive insurance is compulsory. We strongly recommend obtaining
a suitable level of medical/diving insurance and travel cancellation insurance, which is covering all traveling problems like loss of luggage, cancellation of airlines…etc, valued for the duration of the trip.

Q What entry/exit paperwork is required?
A For Thailand a valid passport for six months is all you require; one month visas are issued at the airport on arrival. Please make sure, if you need a visa for Thailand to get one with two entries or a multiple visa, so you are able to enter Thailand again after coming back from Myanmar (Burma). We recommend that you contact your travel agent or your local Thai embassy for the most up to date information on visa and passport requirements.

Q Do you provide land transfers?
A We provide complimentary transfers from/to Flying Manta Boat on Ko Lanta.
Please call our office after hotel check in to confirm pickup times at 087 88 96 802 (when dialing locally). Please inform our office if you need any additional transfers. These Transfers are available for a fee. Please arrange this in advance and send flight details.
Details you will also find when you click the button "Our Service".

Q If your question is not answered yet?
A Please send us an email to office (@) pegamedia.com, we are more than pleased to support you :)
